Busy Customers at Pieceful Quilting

Our customers have been very busy. Here's what they've been up to:

This is Lisa McEnaney with a wedding quilt she made in an Irish Chain. Check out THIS fancy border!

This is Brenda Hoffman. She made this adorable baby quilt using her Janome 11000 and a disc from Anita Goodesigns. I love that ruffled girly border.

Go Green Getaway Weekend

Now that was fun. Twenty six ladies from all over long island gathered for a wonderful relaxing and fun weekend. We had mother/daughters, sisters, old friends and some new friends.

We were busy, busy, busy from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. The hotel had a fitness center, but I don't think anyone used it. It may have been the only place in the hotel WITHOUT loose threads.
Diane requested that everyone wear a name tag, but you know how some people just won't follow the rules. Here's a picture of Annie Mae wearing the nametag that Diane made for her. Yes, it IS made from Kotex!

Here's Donna playing Peek a Boo and Mary Lou with the technical tool.

And now for the unveiling of the finished (and some not so finished projects)

I'm Back!

Ok, I've been busy all year and I've finally found the time to get back into the blog. So much has gone on, I can't look back. But you just have to see this quick pic of me and Libby Lehman. We had a blast when she was here last week. And Beverly is going to teach Thread Play as soon as we can fit it in the schedule.

So let's look forward. We have a new Simple Sampler coming up in March. Here's a little taste of what it will look like. You can sign up on line.

Another fun event coming up is a visit from Jennifer Chiaverini. You know her - she wrote all those wonderful Elm Creek novels. If you haven't read them, get out those reading glasses for a real treat. Start with the Quilters Apprentice. She will be here on Friday April 3rd from 7 - 9 pm. You can sign up on line for that one too.

See you at the shop.

Old Bags Descend on Pieceful Quilting

The Old Bags Challenge was way too much fun for all. The participants were given and old bag filled with a fat quarter of, quite frankly, a very ugly fabric along with buttons, beads, ribbons, trims and who knows what else. They were to make a quilt no smaller than 8 x 10 inches, and no larger than 16 x 20 inches. The prizes were a sewing machine, a $100 gift certificate to Pieceful Quilting and a $50 gift certificate. We ended up with a tie for third place so we had TWO 3rd place winners. The staff also got into the act, but their quilts were not judged. Her are some pictures just in case you can't get into the shop. The quilts will be on display until Feb 23rd and you can vote for viewers choice. The viewers choice winner will receive a "big 'ol bag"!

Nancy Caponegro - First Place Sue Brink - Second Place

Colleen Shea - 3rd Place

October News

Well, we just got back from our son, Andrew's wedding. Great fun. The highlight was dancing with Andrew. And yes, I cried.

But while I was away, Mark Lipinski was teaching at Pieceful Quilting. Definitely fun was had by all. My wonderful staff took care of everything. Here they are:
I'll show you the quilts as soon as I get the pix.

Our very first blog

Wow, I can't believe I managed this so easily. Thanks to Kim Bunchuck, Sunbonnetsue.com for giving me some confidence!

So let's get right to it. What's new today is beautiful kits for the Garden Twist pattern in a very classic blue and white. Stunning!

And Barbara just sent the sample for the Quilt Jacket class. Boy, this one is going to be great. You must stop in to see it.
