We just can't resist a celebration here at PQ. So in honor of leap year we had some special treats. All the books were on sale at 29% off. Any customer who spent more than $29 (and there were quite a few of you), was entered in a drawing for a certificate for 29% of their ENTIRE next order. So who was the lucky leap year baby? - Barbara Fein of Riverhead. The participants were given and old bag filled with a fat quarter of, quite frankly, a very ugly fabric along with buttons, beads, ribbons, trims and who knows what else. They were to make a quilt no smaller than 8 x 10 inches, and no larger than 16 x 20 inches. The prizes were a sewing machine, a $100 gift certificate to Pieceful Quilting and a $50 gift certificate. We ended up with a tie for third place so we had TWO 3rd place winners. The staff also got into the act, but their quilts were not judged. Her are some pictures just in case you can't get into the shop. The quilts will be on display until Feb 23rd and you can vote for viewers choice. The viewers choice winner will receive a "big 'ol bag"!<br /><br /><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div> </div><div><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cEjns57yI/AAAAAAAAABc/yFB7oExVe9A/s1600-h/NancyCaponegro.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167604107430194978" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cEjns57yI/AAAAAAAAABc/yFB7oExVe9A/s200/NancyCaponegro.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cEuns57zI/AAAAAAAAABk/rGUE0yBZOno/s1600-h/NancyCDetail.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167604296408756018" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cEuns57zI/AAAAAAAAABk/rGUE0yBZOno/s200/NancyCDetail.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><div><a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cE6Xs570I/AAAAAAAAABs/Inv_XMvPO4o/s1600-h/SueBrink.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167604498272218946" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cE6Xs570I/AAAAAAAAABs/Inv_XMvPO4o/s200/SueBrink.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cFEXs571I/AAAAAAAAAB0/-74FN4vv-gI/s1600-h/BrinkDetail.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167604670070910802" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cFEXs571I/AAAAAAAAAB0/-74FN4vv-gI/s200/BrinkDetail.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />Nancy Caponegro - First Place Sue Brink - Second Place<br /></div><div><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cFuns573I/AAAAAAAAACE/gUoHGe6_rF8/s1600-h/ColleenShea.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167605395920383858" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cFuns573I/AAAAAAAAACE/gUoHGe6_rF8/s200/ColleenShea.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cF0ns574I/AAAAAAAAACM/EE7EdaiKh8w/s1600-h/SheaDetail.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167605498999598978" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cF0ns574I/AAAAAAAAACM/EE7EdaiKh8w/s200/SheaDetail.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cF73s575I/AAAAAAAAACU/QjkYNfL99h4/s1600-h/SheaDetail2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167605623553650578" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cF73s575I/AAAAAAAAACU/QjkYNfL99h4/s200/SheaDetail2.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div>Colleen Shea - 3rd Place</div></div><br /><div><div></div><div><a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cIrXs58AI/AAAAAAAAADM/4mthGnJi2e4/s1600-h/RachelFoster.jpg"></a></div><div><a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cJM3s58BI/AAAAAAAAADU/HX1qiXaCT6A/s1600-h/RachelFoster.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167609214146310162" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cJM3s58BI/AAAAAAAAADU/HX1qiXaCT6A/s200/RachelFoster.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cHDXs578I/AAAAAAAAACs/YAzEL763wU4/s1600-h/Honorable3.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167606851914297282" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cHDXs578I/AAAAAAAAACs/YAzEL763wU4/s200/Honorable3.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cHOXs57-I/AAAAAAAAAC8/Oh5LDvJZYLU/s1600-h/Honorable4.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167607040892858338" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cHOXs57-I/AAAAAAAAAC8/Oh5LDvJZYLU/s200/Honorable4.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><br /><div></div><div><a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cHI3s579I/AAAAAAAAAC0/T5YSGBxxXnc/s1600-h/Honorable.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167606946403577810" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cHI3s579I/AAAAAAAAAC0/T5YSGBxxXnc/s200/Honorable.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cG2Xs577I/AAAAAAAAACk/ZdUXTKONVD8/s1600-h/Group2.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167606628575997874" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cG2Xs577I/AAAAAAAAACk/ZdUXTKONVD8/s200/Group2.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cGxXs576I/AAAAAAAAACc/x_NbAJ85y9g/s1600-h/Group.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5167606542676651938" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/R7cGxXs576I/AAAAAAAAACc/x_NbAJ85y9g/s200/Group.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>PiecefulQuiltinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08506495801542167991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-385141636821264565.post-29681012330097896592007-11-08T11:49:00.000-08:002007-11-08T11:58:25.951-08:00Getaway Weekend at Camp DeWolfeWe had a great weekend at Camp DeWolfe. The theme was strip quilting and the mystery quilt was either Sweet and Sassy or Bold and Brassy. The strippers wore their boas and laughed a lot. But they quilted a lot and most got their tops completed. But a Picture is worth a thousand words so here are a few:<br /><a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNpIxW63VI/AAAAAAAAAAk/AnvbjKepynU/s1600-h/AnnAngieKathy.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130559999914466642" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNpIxW63VI/AAAAAAAAAAk/AnvbjKepynU/s320/AnnAngieKathy.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNpRhW63WI/AAAAAAAAAAs/w4SDWbF1-wk/s1600-h/Getaway+Fall+2007+029.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130560150238322018" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNpRhW63WI/AAAAAAAAAAs/w4SDWbF1-wk/s320/Getaway+Fall+2007+029.jpg" border="0" /></a><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130559853885578562" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNpARW63UI/AAAAAAAAAAc/96IjDgDPQFo/s320/GroupStripers.jpg" border="0" /> <a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNpyxW63YI/AAAAAAAAAA8/sEGHirS2LiM/s1600-h/Getaway+Fall+2007+033.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130560721468972418" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNpyxW63YI/AAAAAAAAAA8/sEGHirS2LiM/s320/Getaway+Fall+2007+033.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNqHBW63aI/AAAAAAAAABM/mpNOgi_0CeI/s1600-h/MaryLou+and+Donna.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130561069361323426" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNqHBW63aI/AAAAAAAAABM/mpNOgi_0CeI/s320/MaryLou+and+Donna.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNp-BW63ZI/AAAAAAAAABE/3DEg-594ICc/s1600-h/BarbaraPortia.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5130560914742500754" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/RzNp-BW63ZI/AAAAAAAAABE/3DEg-594ICc/s320/BarbaraPortia.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div></div>PiecefulQuiltinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08506495801542167991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-385141636821264565.post-79097682648503611242007-10-10T07:51:00.000-07:002007-10-10T07:56:37.308-07:00October News<a href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/Rwzn9Jjlz0I/AAAAAAAAAAU/sOsnT_1W0VU/s1600-h/markandstaff.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5119721914136645442" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_OwszRZCndj4/Rwzn9Jjlz0I/AAAAAAAAAAU/sOsnT_1W0VU/s320/markandstaff.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Well, we just got back from our son, Andrew's wedding. Great fun. The highlight was dancing with Andrew. And yes, I cried.<br /><br />But while I was away, Mark Lipinski was teaching at Pieceful Quilting. Definitely fun was had by all. My wonderful staff took care of everything. Here they are:<br /></div><div>I'll show you the quilts as soon as I get the pix.</div><div> </div><div>Angie</div>PiecefulQuiltinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08506495801542167991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-385141636821264565.post-32165483709632556392007-09-01T06:36:00.000-07:002007-09-01T06:44:49.664-07:00Janome School ReportAs many of you know, I was trapped in Chicago for three days on the way home from Janome School. I didn't however have the worst of it. I met a man who missed a wedding in which he was the best man and an 80 year old woman who missed her own birthday party! <br /><br />So let me tell you about all I learned at Janome School. We had some hands on classes used the various Janome machines. You can see our creations at the shop, including a beach tote, two handbags and a gorgeous little underwater scene embellished with crystals. I've used the Janome machines of course, but I had no idea ALL of the wonderful features they have. I even learned to put in a zipper perfectly, without a zipper foot!<br /><br />The embroidery functions are amazing. Diane took many classes in the computer programming functions, so she is still the expert in embroidery. Check out her Embroidery club.<br /><br />And speaking about clubs, we will be starting a Janome club for all of you (almost 200 of you) who have purchased Janome machines from us. If you old machine is not up to par, be sure to come in and test drive a Janome. You'll be glad you did.<br /><br />See you at the shop.<br /><br />AngiePiecefulQuiltinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08506495801542167991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-385141636821264565.post-60074056270992259682007-07-30T11:18:00.000-07:002007-07-30T11:23:20.795-07:00Just returned from Hershey ShowKen and I just got back from the Hershey Show. That show is a real treat. For anyone who has never attended, be sure to put that on your calendar for next year. The caliber of the quilts just keeps getting better. Ken and I had a good time except for the Lacrosse team that took over our hotel. They we totally wild and ran rampant all night. By the second night I was down at the pool in my pajamas making my complaints known at 1am! Picture that!<br /><br />I left the shop in the capable hands of my stellar staff. We got some new stuff in while I was away. Donna Sharpe handbags are already on the website. Check those out - great prices. We also got a new line of jewelry so I'm busy taking pictures and getting those on the site.<br /><br />But there is no rest for the wicked so I'm packing up again to vend at the Shoreline Quilters show on August 4th and 5th in Clinton CT on the other side of the pond. Hope to see you there.PiecefulQuiltinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08506495801542167991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-385141636821264565.post-64784038911327006512007-07-12T10:29:00.000-07:002007-07-12T10:36:07.655-07:00Fat Quarter FrenzyBatten down the hatches! It's bright red and yellow with a wonderful motif that reminds me of the window shutters we have here in Polish town in Riverhead NY. <br /><br />Hope to see you soon.PiecefulQuiltinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08506495801542167991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-385141636821264565.post-36391145662926348952007-06-30T13:16:00.000-07:002007-06-30T13:21:37.096-07:00Now I'm Really Cookin'I think I'm gonna like this blog thing. Oftentimes I've got so much going on and I hate to bother people with too many email blasts, so this will satisfy my need to blab.<br /><br />We sold our floor model <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">HandiQuilter</span> so we are <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">HandiQuilter</span>-less this week. Which means that now we have three quilts backed up to be quilted. The new table should be here next Monday, so Mr. Ken the all around maintenance man will be busy next Thursday night.<br /><br />All three quilts are just great. The first to go will have to be <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Fettuccini</span>! It's a VERY easy throw size quilt in rusty reds and cream colors. Great for a man on a sofa. I'll get that on the website asap.<br /><br />The other one I've done is from the Happy Hour by Terry Atkinson of Yellow Brick Road fame. It's called snapshot and I've done it in the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Moda</span> Celebrate Spring colors. That one is waiting to be quilted so that I can get a great picture.<br /><br />If your in the neighborhood, stop by to see Beverly's Marine quilt hanging in the front of the shop. It's spectacular.<br /><br />That's all the news for now.PiecefulQuiltinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08506495801542167991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-385141636821264565.post-77838216436827196092007-06-19T11:17:00.000-07:002007-06-19T11:20:34.460-07:00Our very first blogWow, I can't believe I managed this so easily.
